Lighting Dossier

Once the show has gone on, the lighting designer must prepare a lighting dossier containing an updated set of plans and lists for the stage manager, the lighting department and the theatre archives.

This will include the lighting plot and the related lists such as instrument schedule and focus charts, magic sheet, track sheet, etc. The lighting department will be able to use these plans when luminaires need to be refocused or filters replaced. The lighting plans will also be used to restore the lighting when the play is put on again next season.

If the show will be going on the road, the designer must also prepare a road plot, with a general layout of the lighting which the lighting director will adapt to any venue where the show will go on.
