The source of the beam of  intelligent moving luminaires (hung from yokes) are either discharge lamps in the range of 250W to 2500W tungsten-halogen lamps of up to 2500W. The lamp wattage of moving head luminaires is usually smaller than that of fixed luminaires with an external moving mirror, which can afford the extra weight and size imposed by the use of higher wattage lamps.		The source of the beam of mirrored intelligent luminaires is usually a discharge lamp  in the range of 250W to 2500W. The higher the wattage of the lamp, the larger the encasing needed to enable efficient ventilation, and to accommodate the heavy ballast which regulates the current of the discharge lamp.
