Lamp Housing

The lamp housing is mounted in the lighting fixture and is an integral part of the electrical system of the luminaire. In focusable luminaires the lamp housing and the accompanying reflector are affixed on a common base and move as one unit.

Codes of typical lamp housings in theatrical luminaires are:

TP-22 for 1000 W lamps which can withstand temperatures up to 200°C.
TP-11 for 12 to 75 V multi mirror lamps which can withstand temperatures up to 150°C.
R7S for tungsten halogen pencil lamps that are used to light cycloramas.
